For some it’s a familiar name in a new location. For others, its a new name in a familiar location.
Smokin’ Jack’s has opened up a second restaurant, this one in Morgantown at the former location of Schmitt’s Saloon.
“It’s just an incredible opportunity I have now since I partnered up with JD last January. Taking the Smokin’ Jack’s brand to new heights. And I never would’ve been able to do this without him, and now we’re kicking it into high gear,” said Kevin Taylor, one of the owners.
The original location in Reedsville opened almost twenty three years ago.
Kevin taylor took over operations in 2012, and then partnered with JD Mann last January.
And they’ve had big ideas for the brand since, opening up the Morgantown restaurant in July.
“Our burgers, our steaks, our wings. You know, the unique thing about Jack’s is it’s simple, consistent, good food. And a great atmosphere. You can bring your kids in here, you can bring your husband and wife. You can have your family and enjoy a great meal, great entertainment, and go home for the night,” said Mann, the other owner.
The ribs and wings are the big items on the menu. Add that in with other delicious food and live entertainment, and it’s no wonder why Smokin’ Jack’s is expanding.
“We’re looking at pretty specific areas. University Town Center – we already announced that one. We’ve got an exciting one coming up here at the end of the month that we’re going to announce in the next few days. So be sure to watch our Facebook page, our website – we’ll get that out there. But it’s going to be another West Virginia location in a great city in West Virginia where lots of people like to eat,” said Mann.
Live music and comedy will keep people smiling. But Mann and Taylor are sure the food will keep people coming back.
Smokin’Jack’s is located at 246 Cheat Road in Morgantown, just off of Exit 7 on I-68.
