The latest beauty trend is magnetic eyelashes. If you’re in the market for a new pair, this week’s Test It Tuesday product might be for you.

The 3 Second Lashes claim to be the best ones out there, but will this product live up to some of the top brands? We enlisted the help of WBOY anchor Marisa Matyola and WBOY Digital Content Manager Sarah Collins.

I asked Marisa how she compared this product to traditional fake eyelashes.

“I think it’s pretty interesting that the thing about the 3 Second Lash is only on the corner of your eye, so you won’t have to worry about trimming the original lashes. Once you get these, you have to trim them to fit your eye shape. These would take out that process,” said Matyola.

I asked Sarah if she was excited to try fake lashes for the first time.

“I am excited! I’m kind of nervous,” said Collins.  “They’re really long. Some of them are really bushy-looking, but I’m kind of nervous. I’m wondering – is it going to hurt when you take them off? I hope that they do stay on, that would be another concern that I would have – the magnets, are they strong enough?”

Together they read the instructions: Use your fingers or the applicator tool to align the top magnetic lash along the edge of your natural lashline. Gently lay the top magnetic lash in place. Use your fingers or the applicator tool to align the bottom lash below the top lash.

So what was the verdict?

“The first time, I did pinch my eyelid,” said Collins. “I think I would like them better if they did go full-eyelash instead of just the outside.”

“The sliding off, I was nervous I would rip my eyelashes off,” said Matyola. “These are a little bit too glamorous for an everyday look.”

I asked them if they’d recommend this product.

“If you needed big, crazy eyelashes, then yeah,” said Collins.

“These are easier – you don’t have to trim to fit your eyelids. They just go on. Overall, I think I’d go with the original ones,” said Matyola.

3 Second Lashes cost $29.99 for a set of three.
