WBOY’s Lauren Talotta reviewed this product. Below are her thoughts and opinions.

Once spring arrives in one week, it’ll only be a matter of time until those rainy, windy conditions knock out your power! This week’s Test It Tuesday product claims it’ll save the day!

The Atomic Beam Lantern claims to be the ultimate portable and ultrabright light, illuminating even the darkest of areas! But will it outshine your ordinary flashlight?

Last year, when we tested the Atomic Beam Flashlight, we decided to test it in the WBOY studio. It’s really the perfect room – no windows, and it gets really dark – so we’re going to see if the Atomic Beam Lantern lights up the room the way the flashlight did!

The Atomic Beam Lantern claims to illuminate the entire room, whereas the flashlight’s beams only go in one direction. We turned on the products and shut the lights off. The lantern shined very brightly!

The next test was its durability. The Atomic Beam Lantern claims to be able to withstand heights of 50 feet. I stood on a ladder about 20 feet high and dropped the lantern. Several pieces broke off, but luckily, we were able to put it back together. Take two: it stayed intact!

One thing I really like about this product – it was very bright, and it did illuminate the room. I actually really like the design – it’s very sleek and very convenient, easy to use. However, when I threw it off of the ladder, it did not hold up the first time!

This product costs $19.99, and when it comes to its durability, it’s really going to depend on what you use it for. If you are going hiking, maybe doing something a little more extreme, there are no guarantees. However, if you go camping with the kids or just need an emergency light, this might be your best bet.
