Long-time Harrison County educator Wilson Currey dies

Wilson Currey, a long-time teacher and principal at several Harrison County schools, died Thursday.

Currey, 88 of Shinnston, also served as a president of the Harrison County Board of Education in the 2000s.

A veteran of the U.S. Marines, Currey served as principal at Wyatt, Sardis, Roosevelt Wilson and Liberty schools, according to his obituary.

He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, two children and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 6 at Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston, with funeral services set for 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
