The Marion County Board of Education will be collaborating with the West Virginia Literacy Campaign for the 3rd Annual Marion County Family Literacy Fair.
The fair will focus on promoting the importance of literacy, while creating a fun space for Marion County students to network with companies who help children grow educationally outside of the classroom.
During the event, all children will receive free items ranging from school supplies, gift cards, food selections and more.
“Each vendor is representing literacy for the day. So, they’ll have an activity at each of the table to show parents how to help their children at home and each child then will receive something from the vendor. We try to promote passing out as many library books as possible for the children to have their own library at home,” said Gina Delorenzo, coordinator of the fair.
The fair will take place at the Fairmont Senior Fieldhouse, next to the Board of Education office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4.
