Leaders came together in White Hall today to discuss plans in the renaming and redeveloping of North Central West Virginia’s oldest Mall.
After years of slowly declining in business use, local leaders and construction heads came together to announce the reconstructing an opening of the Middletown Mall.
What is now known as the Middletown Mall will soon be transformed into the Middletown Commons, as co-owner of the mall Rick Biafora spoke on how the developers plan on bringing pride of their shopping area back into the White Hall community. The reconstructing project will bring thousands of jobs to the area and also create un-matched opportunities for a local shopping experience.
“It’s the only main shopping hub of Marion County, and this County needs, they deserve and need that opportunity and we are going to bring this back and give them the shops and the restaurants and the office space and the all the amenities that they need to make this County what it is,” said Biafora.
“We are going to have a drive through the center of the mall to where there’s no longer front or where when you pull in you’ll be able to drive through the middle to what is now the rear parking lot which in the future is going to be one of the same so, it’s very exciting” said Michael Audia of Premiere Promotionals.
Full construction projects are projected to take three to four years to come to completion before the mall will be finished on both exterior and interior.
