“He just came in and said hey you need to come see this so I did not know what I was coming out to and I walked out and when I seen it it just killed us.” said April Wade, the concerned Marion County resident whose yard was destroyed.
The Wade family woke up early Tuesday morning to find that the front portion of the house vandalized from unknown driver.
On the early morning of May 8, the driver came southbound crossing right through the front fence of this residence property barely missing the gas meter and running into the driveway.
The only thing that stopped the truck was the guide-wire to a nearby telephone pole.
Surveillance video of the property shows a maroon truck barreling through the front yard and struggling to get away, after it slammed into a utility pole guide wire on the other side of the house.
The driver did not stay around for long and left the scene with no hesitation.
“This is our property and we respect other people’s property and it is a scary thing now not knowing if someone is going to come in through your house or not,” said Wade.
The vehicle sent debris flying into the side of the house including pieces of the fence nearly missing the living room window, coming a little too close to home for Wade, her husband and their 8-year-old daughter.
“I have a 8-year-old daughter and two dogs that could have happened during the day and they just missed our gas line. I’ve had trouble sleeping because I think of what ifs. What if my daughter was out here, what if my dog was out here, what if they hit the gas line, what if they came through the house and you don’t know. Now I don’t feel safe,” stated Wade.
Anyone with information about this incident or the getaway car should contact the Marion County Sheriff department. Callers may remain anonymous.
