East Fairmont welcomes ‘McDonalds of the future’ for more customer friendly service

Fairmont residents filled the parking lot with big smiles and appetites as the East Fairmont McDonalds  opened Thursday, bringing in new technology for a more customer-friendly experience.

The ‘McDonald’s of the Future’ is just one of many looking to come to West Virginia within the next decade to make customer service and wait times more efficient.

“You know it’s not only the outside that the customer sees, but we also have what is called an optimized prep line. So the way we make food is going to be a little bit different. So it’s nice to put a beautiful building like this in East Fairmont and I think the customers will certainly appreciate it.” said Mcdonalds’ owner John Ebert.

Ebert is the owner of over 40 Mcdonalds around the West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland area.

“The Kiosks are huge for a customer just to be able to walk in and do their own order. They don’t even have to go to the counter and interact. You can just do it, wait for their food and go about their day.” said McDonalds’ marketing intern, Claire Craig.

The first 100 customers of the grand opening left with a coupon for one free ‘big mac’ per week for a whole entire year.
