Marion County first responders came together at the Windmill Park in Fairmont, as the Marion County Rescue Squad, Grant Town EMS and locals hit the field for the annual ‘Grant Town EMS Softball Tournament’.

Each year the organization would raise money for a non-profit organization of their choice.

This year, each team came together to raise money for the Marion County Humane Society.

“Last year was our first year that we actually carried on with it. Another agency actually did it before us, but quit doing it. Last year we did the wounded warriors project and this year of course is Marion County humane society and then next year we’ll pick another group and continue on across the years with different groups every year.” said Gauge Miller, Grant Town EMS.

“It means a lot to me. It’s great that everybody comes out and supports Grant EMS and us. Support the animals and everything.” said Ashley Higginbotham, caretaker for Marion County Humane Society.
