The election for the Mannington Mayor is around the corner and on Monday night the public had the chance to meet and get to know the candidates.
The meet and greet was held at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in downtown Mannington and was hosted by the Mannington Women’s Club.
The president of the Mannington Women’s Club, Lora Michael, said it was important for each candidate to have an opportunity to speak to the public and answer individual questions in order for the public to make an informed decision come June.
“We have five candidates for mayor and we just have a lot of interest in what’s going on in our town. So, we decided to have a meet and greet, so our candidates could all come out from these councilmen at large, the precinct candidates and our mayor candidates and they can give us their information and tell us a little bit about themselves,” said Michael.
Other meet and greets are scheduled for the candidates in the near future.
