FAIRMONT W.Va. – Marion County agencies and local non profits gathered together at Fairmont Field Club Thursday afternoon, as the Marion County Chamber of Commerce and Global Science Technology hosted the “Lunch and Learn”.
“You know there’s not a lot of employees so there’s a big need for people that need to protect themselves on the internet. So, we thought that today gave us an opportunity to offer our members a lunch and learn to talk about personal cyber security,” said Tina Shaw, director of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.
The luncheon helped bring a better awareness and knowledge to businesses on the importance of cyber security from the coorperate and personal level for all employees.
“One word is awareness. To think that you can be at a PC or on a phone or using technology and not be aware of how you are interacting with sites or communicating with companies over the web. You need to be able to stop, take a look and hesitate for a second,” said Cannon Wadsworth, director of state programs for GTS. The chamber of commerce and will continue to host lunch and learns throughout the year.
