The Marion County Commission met on Wednesday, as residents discussed ways to improve their area.
Among the list of requests brought forth, the Marion County Relay for Life was accepted to receive $1,500 from commission.
The organization said it’s important to help people locally.
“We like to keep all the money that we can within the community and with their assistance we’re able to help fund programs for Fairmont Regional Hospital with their Look Good, Feel Good programs, their community outreach. Everything that helps patients while they are undergoing cancer treatments,” said Susie Kniceley, Relay for Life.
The commission also discussed concerns with the Marion County litter control and congratulated residents on being the ninth healthiest county in the state.
