The Marion County United Way is getting closer to meeting this year’s fundraising goals.
The non-profit hosted its annual midway luncheon on Wednesday in Fairmont.
Several United Way supported agencies and sponsoring businesses learned how close the campaign to reaching the goal of $420,000.
“It’s important to let our agencies know where we stand especially when we are so close, we’re over 70% of our goal,” said campaign chair Michael Angelucci. “That helps motivate some of our agency leaders some of our campaign sponsors through out the community and through out the county to really get out, work hard and throw us over that edge.”
So far the United Way has raised just over $325,000 leaving it nearly $100,000 shy of its Dec. 31 goal.
