Organizers prepare for Run to Read 5K race in Marion County

The city of Fairmont will be filled with runners from all over the area once again, as Literacy Volunteers of Marion County will host the 20th annual Run to Read 5K.

The 5K run will provide awareness for adults and children within the learning assistance program.

“We start at 12th Street Pool to run the 5K and it’s a very fun evening. Once the run is over, we have a pool party for all of the participants. This year because it is our 20th annual year and because we are trying to kind of beat the participation a little bit – we are going to have several door prizes as a follow-up and we also have refreshments.” said Director of Literacy Volunteer of Marion County.

The event will take place on Friday July 27th.

Runners can register until the day of the event for $25.

For more information on registering or the day’s events click Run to Read 5k site.
