Strongman competitions are held all over the country but on Saturday, Palatine Park hosted one of the largest strongman competitions.

This was the second year this competition has been held in Fairmont. Both men and women from 21 different states were in attendance for the competition.

Event promoter, Paul Mouser, said these competitors were competing in several different phases of competition in hopes of making it to the national competition.

“There are different weight classes for women and men there is also masters categories for age 40 plus and there’s also a novice category for people who are just getting started,” said Mouser.

The winners from Saturday’s competition will receive an invitation to compete at the World Championship in the Arnold Classic.
