St. Jude fundraiser in Fairmont helps raise money during “National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month”

September is ‘National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month’ and Sunday, Palatine Park was full of music and residents who wanted to help children suffering from cancer and disease.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was at the park in Fairmont raising money for it’s organization.

The group held a ‘Chinese Fundraiser’ that donated items from the community. The band ‘Jenna Won’t Sing’ provided entertainment for the crowd.

Guests could also donate money directly to the organization and all proceeds went to benefit St. Jude Hospital.

“It’s a good day for a great cause. There’s children everyday fighting battles that we, we can’t even comprehend. So that’s the good thing, that’s a good reason to be here,” said Jim Pulice an organizer with Jenna Wont’ Sing.

While the group set no monetary goal, they received a significant amount of donations.
