Truck accident causes power outages in Marion County

Hundreds of Marion County residents were without power after a truck hit a power pole this early Monday morning.

Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Baxter Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to the accident on Baxter Street that left one pole snapped in half, and four others without wiring from the impact.

The road was closed to on-coming traffic, as Mon Power crews and others worked to restore service to properties for the majority of the day.

Rivesville Elementary Middle School was also affected, causing the school to let out early.

No injuries were reported.
