WVU Industrial Extension Program holds compliance seminar

The West Virginia University Industrial Extension Program held a compliance seminar Thursday in White Oaks.

The class focused on air, water and waste and DEP and EPA regulations for small to medium manufacturers.

Organizers said the various rules and regulations can be difficult to understand.

“Well most manufacturers and anybody in this industry is trying to meet the requirements and regulations. They’re just so complicated that some people have a hard time understanding them and managing them so this is a way for us to get the information out to them to make sure that they meet the requirements before they have a visit from somebody and realize they are not meeting what the expectations are,” said Michelle Kyker, industrial extension engineer.

Several of these types of Compliance Seminars are held during the year throughout the state.
