A spin off from the IFather event series in Monongalia County has now turned into the popular Mighty Mothers event series.
This is the second year for this event and is sponsored by the parent educator resource center in the Monongalia area in order to help mothers bond with their children.
The parent resource coordinator from this event, Julie Parsons, said this series included different interactive stations for mothers and their children to participate in while bonding, including a slime station, scooters and crafts.
“You know moms are so often saddled with all the duties of home, such as running their kids around and often don’t have time just to play,” said Parsons. “So we’re excited to offer them an evening of just fun and laughter.”
One elementary participated last year, and this year its expanded into four different schools in the Monongalia County area. The coordinators from this event say they have expectations of expanding further in the following years.
