BELINGTON, W.Va. — One person has been located and another is still missing following a search and rescue call to an area near Belington and Junior in Barbour County.
According to the Barbour County 911 Communication Center, a call from an injured person came in at about 3 p.m. on Friday.
The comm center officials learned that the caller and another individual had become separated while walking in the area, and that the caller had become injured after that time.
Responding to the scene near Trinity Road in Barbour County were the Belington, Junior and Coalton fire departments, as well as the West Virginia State Police and Barbour County Sheriff’s Department; Barbour County EMS also arrived to assist with treatment of the wounded individual, according to the comm center.
The caller was able to be located due to the call placed to the communications center, however, the other individual has yet to be found at this time; the caller and first responders are still on scene, comm center officials said.
