UPDATE: Troopers cancel Silver Alert after locating missing 72-year-old man with dementia

Troopers confirmed that Mays was safe. He was located in Jackson County.


ORIGINAL (5/18/18 4:17 p.m.):

The Fairmont Division of West Virginia State Police issued a Silver Alert for a missing man with dementia. 

Charles Mays, 72, is described as a 5’7″ white man that weighs approximately 180 pounds. Troopers said Mays has blonde/gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and white flannel button up shirt and blue jeans.

Troopers said Mays was last seen driving Thursday at about 10 p.m. on Rhea Terrace off of Locust Avenue in Fairmont. He was driving a dark blue 2004 Chevrolet Tracker with a West Virginia license plate that read O2K481.
