BROOKHAVEN, W.Va. – Students at a Monongalia County elementary school got to see their work stand in the front of their school Friday morning.
Students at Brookhaven Elementary School worked with art teacher Jason Jaros all year to complete a mosaic bull sculpture.
The bull is the school’s mascot, and the sculpture is meant to symbolize strength and unity and be a demonstration of that unity in the school.
“It’s a symbol that hopefully a lot of people will see, and will come up to it, and get close to it and get an idea of how many hands touched it,” said Jaros, who coordinated the completion of the sculpture.
Hundreds of students and staff members took time to place more than 13,000 pieces of glass that were used to complete the statue.
