With students getting ready to start school, several organizations are working to provide students with tools for success.
The Cheat Lake Volunteer Fire Department held its annual back to school giveaway event in collaboration with Community Caring.
This was the eighth year the fire department has held this event for all kids and families in the community.
Volunteer coordinator for Community Caring, Jennifer Frankhouser, said this event was free and open to the public and included a wide variety of clothing along with other items such as toys and books for the children.
“We have a lot of donations that were brought in through the community we have pretty much anything that you would have at a yard sale, and then we set it out free to the community and anyone can come in and get as much or as little as they want,” said Frankhouser.
The volunteers in charge of this event said the next giveaway will be held this fall at the same location.
