Educating the youth is always important but one elementary school is taking youth education to a new level.
Eastwood Elementary School in Morgantown held its annual STEM fair event.
This was the third year for this event and included different interactive stations all about STEM, meaning science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Principal DeAnn Hartshorn says the purpose of this event is to help inspire the students in a positive way.
“Our mission is actually growing healthy kids in a healthy world, so for us to have our students understand what a big piece of learning it is to be sustainable. It fits perfectly with our STEM efforts that we do here,” said Hartshorn.
This was a free event made possible through a grant from the Remake Learning Days organization and also provided free books for all the students to take home.
Organizers say they have high hopes of continuing green and STEM education in the following school years.
