Family Fun Night hosted by WIC at Spark! Science and Imagination Center in Morgantown

Monongalia

Family Fun Night was held Thursday evening at the Spark! Science and Imagination Center.

The event allowed kids to interact with others in the program while exploring the museum.

Families who participate in Monongalia County Health Department’s WIC Program, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start attended.

The theme of the event was “Come Grow With WIC.”

Children were able to sample a variety of fruits and vegetables that were provided.

“Well, it’s a very interactive space. They can do fine motor activities, they can do science and they can do problem solving. Along with that, WIC provides some nutritional activities that kind of educates them on healthy foods and they do that through story telling,” said Beth Nair, Monongalia County Schools Head Start and Early Head Start Program.

Before leaving, kids were given grab bags that contained recipes, pepper seeds and MyPlate nutrition recommendations.
