It’s that time of year once again. Time to buy some Girl Scout cookies.
The Girl Scouts of Black Diamond gathered at Chestnut Ridge Church in Morgantown Friday evening for their kick-off rally to start the cookie selling season.
Local scouts will be selling pre-order cookies for roughly the next month. Those orders must be in by February 1 so buyers can get their cookies a few weeks later.
The scouts learned some cookie facts this evening, as well as selling methods and other important things to know.
Some scouts will be doing their selling the old-fashioned way of going door-to-door, while others are taking a new-aged approach to making sales and earning badges.
“It takes about 10 minutes to set it up. You talk about what you want to use your money for selling cookies for. What your goal is. You just talk about what it means to you to sell cookies,” said Kacey Cutright of Girl Scout Troop 10007.
Boxes of cookies range from $4 to $5 in price, and those proceeds help each troop operate though the year, as well as help benefit other causes.
If you don’t know a Girl Scout to buy from, you can go to either the Apple or Android store and search for the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app, to locate a booth sale near you.
