The Division of Highways met with the Monongalia County Commission Wednesday afternoon to discuss major road concerns in the area.
DOH members determined that there are twenty slide locations on River Road. The cost to repair it will be nearly $6 million.
Officials said this is a large amount of money that isn’t in the budget, so they are going to focus on repairing the section of River Road near Dupont Road first.
“So what we’re going to do right now is prioritize the upper end to make sure we have safe access to our residents and local businesses and then proceed from there,” said Don Williams, West Virginia Division of Highways.
DOH members brought maps to clearly show the situation, and received input from commission on how to deal with the issue at hand.
