Restaurant Road Trip: Home Grown Pizza

At Home Grown Pizza you’d think the name says it all, but in reality this is not your typical pizza joint.

Employees like Andrew Beach said Home Grown Pizza is known for its diversity.

“We offer a lot of different pies that a lot of your big chains don’t have,” said Beach.

Executive chef of the restaurant, Thomas Price, said Home Grown pizza started in the summer of 2017 and prides themselves on offering some of the most unique specialties in Morgantown.

“We have all kinds of different pizzas on the menu, we do one called Greek by the creek um we’re down here by Decker’s Creek so we kind of just named it Greek by the creek,” said Price. “We start with a basil pesto and do all kinds of Greek toppings on there, it’s a little different than your normal pizza but uh it’s pretty popular.”

Despite not having a delivery service Home Grown offers a wide variety of unique appetizers and entrees along with its specialty pizzas that make it well worth the drive.

“This place uses fresh ingredients, fresh homegrown food, we try to get local people to get with us together so we can get the best flavors of the foods,” said Beach.

“Everything is from scratch here we make everything from our salad dressings, to our pizza dough to our pizza sauce you know done fresh here in house uh every day,” explained Price.

In addition to great food employees said Home Grown is known for its homey environment and friendly customer service.

“We’re trying to go for you know when you come in you know it kind of feels like home and uh kind of know you’re being taken care of and uh you know you’re eating some good food,” said Price.

Home Grown Pizza is located off Earl L Core road and is open seven days a week.
