Taste of West Virginia benefits American Red Cross


The Taste of West Virginia was held Thursday evening at the Morgantown Marriott at the Waterfront Place. 

All Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Red Cross of Northeast West Virginia. 

Guests were able to sample food from over 20 restaurants in the area all in one place. 

More restaurants attended this year than ever before. 

“It’s always a really good time. You’re never going to have a better chance to try so many different restaurants and so many different chef’s creations and they’re really bringing their A game when they come here because this is the big competition,” said Chef Marion Ohlinger , participant and owner of Hill and Hollow in Morgantown.  “And the wonderful thing about this business is everybody here is friends but we’re also all here to win. So it’s a really cool competition in that way,” he continued. 

The winners were as follows:

Best Savory Dish: Cody’s 
Best Sweet Dish: Tutto Gelato
Best Presentation: Table 9
Most Original: Pepperbroni’s 
People’s Choice Award: 1863 Grill 
Best Overall: Bourbon Prime
