West Virginia University is all about promoting a healthy lifestyle especially for the younger generation.
The second annual Kids Health Career day was held at the West Virginia University Health and Education building.
The overall purpose of this event is to get kids in the community excited about careers within the health field.
Communications specialist Chelsea Betts said this event included several different hands-on stations for the kids to interactive with that were primarily based around health.
“The goal of this event is to get kids excited about careers in the health field, so we want them to meet the doctors, the nurses, the pharmacists, the EMTs, we’re going to have the um health net helicopter land so they’ll get to meet the flight crew as well, so it’s just really exciting day for them,” said Betts.
Another objective of this event is to let the community know the health services provided at this facility aren’t limited to just WVU students anymore but also provides services to the public.
This event also included prizes for the kids to take home and free snow cones from the Kona Ice truck.
