WVU students take part in ‘Caffeinated Creativity for a Cause’ event

Monongalia

Friday, the WVU Reed College of Media held its fourth annual CreateAthon at the Evansdale crossing.

The theme this year is ‘Caffeinated Creativity for a Cause. ‘ More than 50 students and seven area professionals will be developing strategic communication campaigns benefitting three local organizations. This includes Homeward Bound WV, the Morgantown Theatre Company, and the Rosenbaum Family House. This is 24-hour work around the clock marathon.

“A lot of students don’t have the opportunity to take on internships because of work, or just a lot of school work. So, this gives them a chance to put together a lot of material for their portfolio in one sitting. And then for the clients, the non-profits, they are also getting a lot of collateral in a short amount of time,” said Allison Fladd, event organizer.

At the end of the 24-hour period, students will present their work to a panel of judges with the hopes of becoming the CreateAthon 2019 champions.
