The City of Morgantown held its second community forum Wednesday night for ‘Future Study Area No. 16’ at the Marilla Center near Sabraton.
Morgantown Development Services Department kicked off a neighborhood-level, grassroots small area plan for “Study Area No. 16”, which is located along Powell Avenue near Marilla Park. The plan addresses land use, transportation, and a variety of other topics.
“I think the zoning that’s designated there right now is for business and everything surrounding it is residential. And the first forums we heard a lot of concern for the steep slops and the ability to develop the property,” said Chet Parsons, Project Manager with AECOM.
City of Morgantown’s Comprehensive Plan includes “Area for Future Study”. Those future study areas are places where existing zoning does not align with existing land uses or the existing pattern of development.
