Facebook said it began notifying users whether their data was collected by Cambridge Analytica. But, if you didn’t get a notification, you should still check to see if you were impacted.
Facebook’s tool, which can be accessed by clicking here, is now live, and ready to tell you if your data was affected.
Once you click on the link, you’ll see a page called “How can I tell if my info was shared with Cambridge Analytics?”
The important information is entitled “Was my information shared?”
Facebook told me I didn’t login to “This Is Your Digital Life,” the app which shared data with Cambridge Analytica. However, it said a friend did.
“As a result, the following information was likely shared with ‘This Is Your Digital Life:’ Your public profile, Page likes, birthday and current city.”
If none of your data was compromised, you’ll see a message that says, “Based on our available records, neither you nor your friends logged into ‘This Digital Life.'”
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is scheduled to appear in front of the Senate on Tuesday to answer questions about the Cambridge Analytica breach.
