Appointed officials all over the state are spending their final weeks in their positions and some are taking a look back.
Randolph County Commission President Mike Taylor has spent seven years as commission president and more than a decade serving the county. Commissioner Taylor said he made providing support for the rural and unincorporated communities in Randolph County a priority during his three terms.
“We are the voice for those people; we are their governmental representatives. They don’t have a mayor or town council they can go to in some instances. So, we are their voice and that’s an important role,” said Taylor.
Taylor will step down at the end of the year.
Commission members will meet once after the new year before approving a new commission president.
