Fairmont City Council met Tuesday evening with a full agenda discussing the matters of the city.
During the meeting, city council went into executive session to discuss the future of a vacant 3rd Ward city council seat left by Walter Colley. Council named and appointed Warren Harger to fill that vacant seat. Council members said they are glad to have Harger join them and look forward to working with him.
“I want to hear from the 3rd District about how I can best benefit the 3rd District, and to participate with the 10 year plan to move the city towards the existing goals that they already have,” said Harger.
Also, council unanimously approved an ordinance that will allow the Fairmont fire chief purchase property for a new East Side Fire Station on the corner of Vermont and Morgantown Avenue.
