Harrison County precincts reported results quickly on the night of the primary election.
All results were reported by 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. The Harrison County Clerk’s Office said that the results were in much quicker this year than in years past.
The three incumbents running for the Harrison County Board of Education were re-elected Tuesday night, Frank Devono, Jr., Michael Daughtery and Kristin Messenger.
Patsy Trecost surfaced as the winner for the primary in the race for county commission, beating incumbent Bernie Fazzini.
County Clerk Susan Thomas said the quick results could be because there were no paper ballots this year.
“We still had some that are not happy that there was not paper. I heard some of those complaints when I was out there from the poll workers and we did have some that wouldn’t vote and I am sorry for that. I think they still need to vote if it is a machine,” said Thomas.
Voter turnout for the county was a little over 27 percent.
