Voters in Webster County will have their chance at the polls with the rest of the state when primary election voting starts Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. But on the local level, they will not have many options until November.
Democratic voters will have slightly more to think about than Republicans in the county, with a race for the county commission seat between incumbent commissioner Jerry Hamrick of Webster Springs and Dale Hall of Diana. The winner of that race will so far run uncontested in the November general election, since no Republican has filed for the office.
Voters across party lines will have a chance to vote for members of the school board, but the three candidates running for three seats are all eligible based on their districts, and will take their seats in July.
