With temperatures in the 90s on July 4, many headed to the pool to beat the heat.

The Clarksburg Splash ZONE was packed with people, either floating down the lazy river or coming down one of its many slides. The pool saw one of its largest crowds this year and lifeguards said they expected to be packed on the holiday.

Twenty lifeguards are on duty at all times at the pool but lifeguards said its important to always watch your kids, especially in a large crowd.

“Well we always have to stand at our maximum and alert because there is always going to be a lot of children here to make sure we are enforcing the rules to everybody so everyone has a fun time and stays safe while they are doing it,” said lifeguard Nathan Fubio.

Lifeguards said the most popular attractions at the pool are the slides and the floating gator.
