Preston County Board of Education holds final meeting of June

School may be out for the summer but school related events are still being held.

The Preston County Board of Education committee met for its last meeting of the month.

This meeting began with cake and awards for the important retirees within the community.

Superintendent, Steve Wotring, said this meeting is based on the usual agenda, which included discussion on the Freshman failure rate in Preston County Schools.

“It’s pretty basic here at the end of June, probably the big thing on the agenda will just be um approving our personal items there’s nothing else really on the board except for you know the regular finances that you approve etc., so tonight’s board meeting is just really routine,” said Wotring.

This board meets twice a month with the next meeting on Monday, July 2.
