Wednesday, officials in Preston County recounted votes for the commissioner race on the republican side.
The recount was requested by candidate Lucas Tatham.
It was a close race with candidate Samantha Stone receiving 35 more votes than Tatham.
Commissioners said this was the first recount since electronic voting machines have been in use.
After the recount, officials determined that Samantha Stone is still the winner of the race for the republican nomination for Preston County Commission.
