Public hearing set to discuss White Oaks development and future infrastructure needs

A public hearing has been set to discuss future infrastructure projects in Harrison County.

County commissioners made a motion  to approve a resolution to set a public hearing on November 13 at 9 a.m. The future infrastructure projects would be out in White Oaks as more areas are continued to be developed.

White Oaks has opened its second entrance on Route 131 near Saltwell and developers said the area can be developed as far as the Freedom Kia dealership and  to the area behind it.

“What the TIF district does specifically is it allows for increased infrastructure investment, that is water, sewer, roads, lighting, electricity, broadband, things that might otherwise not be necessary without the TIF district,” said Jason Pizatella, counsel for High Tech Corridor Development, LLC.
