Randolph County Community Arts Center in Elkins will be hosting DardenFest on Saturday. The Appalachian Forest Heritage Area is partnering with ArtsBank to host the second annual benefit concert.
DardenFest will feature local eclectic musicians who have donated their time in support and celebration of arts education in the area.
“It just makes sense for an event like this, bringing the community together and celebrating local musicians and to be able to combine that with a more long-term—actually giving to an organization that ensures that arts education is in the local schools,” said AmeriCorps Coordinator Rebecca Conway.
DardenFest raised more than $700 at the first event and coordinators are hopeful to exceed that amount with a larger venue, this year.
The doors open to the public at 6:30 p.m., and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
