The Angel Tree is up at the Elkins/Randolph County YMCA and 71 children from infant to 16 years of age need help to get gifts from their Christmas lists. The YMCA has partnered with Youth Health Services of Elkins and community organizations to sponsor children in need.
For more than 20 years the YMCA has had an Angel Tree and is happy to continue bringing smiles during the holiday.
“If you’re wanting to help somebody out or if your kids are out of the house or if there’s somebody you want to help out, it’s great to get one of these and buy something and make a great Christmas for a child that’s probably in a lot of need. We always want to make our community better. We are more than just a swim and gym place; we’re a community center,” said CEO Sid Gillispie.
Stop by the YMCA in downtown Elkins to get your angel off the tree and start buying gifts. The donations have to be in by December 18 to make sure the presents are under the tree by Christmas morning.
