Glass recycling location open in Randolph County

Randolph

City of Elkins officials headed out in the early morning showers to host an opening event for the new glass recycling location.

The City of Elkins, Randolph County Solid Waste Authority, and the recycling committee partnered to bring the service to all of Randolph County. Officials said they have been working for more than a year to offer glass recycling to suit the community’s needs.

“I think people want to be responsible and want to reduce the waste in the waste stream. We have recycling with respect to cardboard and plastics and milk containers and things like that. It’s just something that I think people want and we would like to offer,” said Recycling Committee Chair Rob Chenoweth.

Randolph County offers multiple recycling services. City officials say the recycling location will save money for the county.
