The Randolph County Commission has released its budget for the coming fiscal year.
Commissioners say the county has been spending more than its collecting in past years, and they wanted to fix that problem.
The county is expecting to take in $500,000 less than this fiscal year, and commissioners said they’ve started with their own office to make the cuts.
“We’ve cut our budgets well over half-a-million dollars, so we started. That was the starting point, to get our spending in line, and then to work with our elected officials to tighten those budgets up the best they could as well,” said Commission President Mark Scott.
Scott said the commission will reassess that budget as the year goes on.
