The Randolph County United Way is kicking off its fundraising efforts with an annual charity auction.
The auction is the first and largest fundraiser for the organization, and officials say the event will be a great start to their $130,000 annual goal. Officials said the auction would not be successful if it weren’t for the help of community members and businesses which support the organization.
“It takes a lot of time and effort to pull it off. The community as a whole, the businesses in Randolph County are so willing to donate to this auction, you know. Everyone just sort of comes together to support the United Way,” said Randolph County United Way Executive Director Karrah Washington.
Items can still be donated throughout the week and up until the morning of the Saturday event.
Items can be dropped off for the auction at the United Way office in Elkins.
