The Randolph and Tucker County Child Advocacy Center held its seventh annual ‘Champion for Children’ event at Orchard Hall in Elkins.
Friday night was about celebrating the champions in the community who support the Child Advocacy Center. The event hall was filled with those who support the mission of the center to end child abuse and protect children. Just last year ‘Champion for Children’ event raised a little more than 10 thousand dollars to help the kids and center.
“It helps with the cost that we can’t get grant funding typically from the state or federal funds. So it’s unrestricted money that we can spend to buy workbooks for kids,” said Margot Evick, Executive Director of the Randolph-Tucker Children’s Advocacy Center.
A dinner was served and awards were given to those selected by the centers to be champions for children’s advocacy in the community.
