WVU Mountaineer visits Elkins elementary school

Randolph

On Wednesday, the WVU Mountaineer spent the day in Elkins on the last full day before turning over the buckskins.

Elkins native, Trevor Kiess, visited Third Ward Elementary School as part of a tour through the county that included downtown businesses and Elkins High School.

The visit to Third Ward Elementary was the 400th event he’s attended in the role, and he’s thankful to have had the opportunity to serve as the 65th Mountaineer.

“From the Day 1 when we started, to the last day tomorrow, it’s just been an amazing ride. There’s been a lot of ups, and it’s been absolutely amazing. I look back on this year with the fondest of memories and it’s been absolutely amazing,” said Kiess.

Kiess will step down Thursday, April 11 at a ceremony in Morgantown.
