Police said a man from Pennsylvania stole an elementary student’s gaming ID and then made a threat towards an elementary school.

The alleged threat was made towards St. John Central Grade School in Bellaire, Ohio. Police originally believed the threat was made by the first grader while playing on his Xbox and talking with another player. Now they say the threat was made by a hacker in Pennsylvania.

The new information came to light after interviewing the child’s parents, who said the kid was at home playing video games at the time the alleged threat was made.

Bellaire Police Chief Dick Flanagan said they have IT experts working to track down the internet provider and router address. They said they also received a phone call which came from an out-of-state number.

Police said they’ve determined there was never any danger at the school.
