VIDEO: Man arrested after reportedly attacking Belmont Co. deputy, beating woman at motel

Police responded to reports of a man allegedly dragging a woman, beating her in the head and choking her.

Michael Leon Davis, 34, of Cleveland, was arrested at the Days Inn West on Route 214 in Belmont County, Ohio.

Belmont County Deputy Dustin Hildebrand ordered him to stop, but Davis refused.

The deputy then used his taser on Davis, but the suspect then pulled out the taser probes and attacked the deputy.


“While Deputy Hildebrand was reloading his taser, he was attacked by the guy and was assaulted and received minor injuries. But with the help of two other residents in the motel, they assisted Deputy Hildebrand and was able to get the guy under control,” said Belmont County Sheriff Dave Lucas.

The incident took place on the balcony of the motel.

Davis has been jailed, and has been charged with assault on an officers, persistent disorderly, drug trafficking and possession.

His bond is currently set at $50,250.
